Commissioning Process

After initial contact by phone or email, I will make an appointment to visit you to discuss your requirements and take a look at where you would like the stained glass to go: a door, window or fanlight. Sometimes a framed piece is commissioned to hang or stand in a window. You may wish to visit my studio where you can look at glass samples. You don't have to be local to commission work, instead we can communicate via email, phone and post.

If you are happy to proceed, a non-returnable fee of £50 will be charged and the design work will begin. When a design is agreed on, I will send you a watercolour impression of what the finished panel/s will look like with a formal quotation. A 30% deposit will then be required to confirm the order. Work is priced by the square foot and this can vary from between £85-£300 per square foot depending on complexity of design, whether traditional glass painting is required and glass chosen. Full size plans will be drawn up for your approval, the glass choice finalised and I will then proceed with making your panels. You are welcome to come and observe during this process. Payment is due on completion.

Fitting can be arranged by me or you may prefer to undertake this yourself.
